Hosted by James Corden, A League of Their Own is made by CPL Productions and we have facilitated the show in both Studio D at BBC Elstree Centre and George Lucas Stage 2 at Elstree Studios.
Having played host to A League of Their Own in Elstree since the first series in 2010, Series 11 of the show recorded it’s 8 episode block in our 15,770 sq ft George Lucas Stage 2 across June and July 2016.
In order to ensure the smooth running of this complex and diverse production, we provide a full support service, including studio management, engineering, electricians and scenic hands, to back up to CPL’s own camera, sound and lighting crew.

During CPL’s studio residency the production team makes full use of our studio support facilities, including a production office, costume, make-up and dressing rooms, an executive viewing area, four general purpose rooms with gallery connectivity, edit suites and green rooms.
Behind the scenes on the A League of Their Own set during recording
We work very closely with the CPL production team in the studio prior to recording, so they can test out the show’s extreme sporting challenges in advance. From giant water tanks and ice rinks to stunt airplanes blasted with giant fans and rugby pitches made from multiple moving treadmills, both Studio D and George Lucas Stage 2 have accommodated various unusual and complex filming requirements across all 11 series.
